NITRILE (NBR) |
It
burns with sooty flame leaving an intolerable smell. |
| 2.
EPDM |
Burns
readily with sooty flame leaving a dry & waxy odour. |
| 3.
BUTYL (IIR) |
Burns
readily with phenolic odour and if colour tested with pyrolysate,
it will give positive test. |
| 4.
NEOPRENE (CR) |
It
burns with sparkling flame with HCL odour and if tested with
copper (Heat the copper and touch to the sample) the flame
will glow green. |
| 5.
FLUOROCARBON(FPM) |
It
burns and leaves acrid HF odour and it can easily be found
out due to its higher density than other Elastomers. |
| 6.
NATURAL RUBBER (NR) |
It
burns continuously and become sticky and leaves a Black Patch
on the holding portion. |
| 7.
POLYURETHENE (AU.EU.) |
It
burns and melts leaving drops continuously. |
| 8.
SILICONE (Q.MO.MVQ) |
It
burns with a white flame giving white smoke. (No other Elastomer
gives white smoke) smelling like bitter almond. |
